ISLAMABAD — The Senate Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination, chaired by Senator Dilawar Khan, on Friday reviewed development projects and public issues in Chitral, focusing on tourism, road infrastructure, electricity, telecommunications, and the transportation of wheat between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Committee reviewed the performance of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and sought a report on damaged government properties in Chitral. It also expressed concern over delays in the Lowari Tunnel and Chakdara Road projects, directing the National Highway Authority (NHA) to ensure their timely completion.
Members also discussed electricity shortages, mobile connectivity, and wheat transportation, stressing that unnecessary hurdles to inter-provincial trade should be avoided.
