JHELUM–‐—–A delegation of trainee civil service officers undergoing practical training visited the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Jhelum to gain firsthand insight into the district’s administrative structure, governance mechanisms and public service delivery.

During the visit, Additional Deputy Commissioner General (ADCG) Jhelum Alizay Rehan met the trainee officers at her office and briefed them in detail on the functioning and responsibilities of the district administration.

She highlighted the implementation of government policies at the district level, the importance of field inspections and the administration’s role in addressing public grievances. She stressed that field officers should ensure easy public access to government offices and regularly hold Khuli Katcheries (open public forums) to facilitate the timely and effective resolution of citizens’ complaints.

The delegation was also briefed on price control mechanisms at the tehsil level, regular market inspections, action against profiteering, anti-encroachment operations on roads and in bazaars, and monitoring of ongoing development projects.

Officials further explained the functioning of Land Record Centres and the administrative measures being taken to achieve revenue recovery targets.

At the conclusion of the session, ADCG Alizay Rehan conveyed her best wishes to the trainee Assistant Commissioners and expressed hope that the educational visit would contribute to enhancing their professional knowledge and administrative capabilities.

She urged the officers to make integrity, transparency and public service the guiding principles of their careers and to remain committed to serving citizens with responsibility and dedication.
