MITHI: A crime review meeting of Tharparkar Police was held at the office of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tharparkar Arif Aziz, with all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) of the district in attendance.

During the meeting, SSP Arif Aziz reviewed the performance of police officers and expressed serious concern over unsatisfactory performance in certain cases, particularly the failure to arrest the actual accused.

Disciplinary action was initiated against some officers, while show-cause notices were also issued over lapses in the performance of their duties.

The SSP directed all SHOs to take effective measures to improve the law-and-order situation and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property. He made it clear that negligence and dereliction of duty would not be tolerated.

He further directed police officers to intensify operations against drug dealers, criminals and other anti-social elements, ensure the arrest of the actual perpetrators in criminal cases, and strengthen patrolling and snap-checking across the district.

SSP Arif Aziz reiterated that maintaining peace, protecting citizens and improving the overall law-and-order situation in Tharparkar remained among the police department’s top priorities.
