FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh took part in the SCO business council board meeting held in Bishkek, where business promotion among member countries and investment opportunities in Pakistan came under detailed discussion.
The meeting brought together representatives from member states to explore ways to expand commercial ties and unlock new avenues for regional cooperation. Sheikh stressed that stronger connectivity through land, air and rail routes would help deepen business relations and support trade flows across the region.
He described the SCO as a strong regional alliance with member countries that offer valuable strengths, including talent, capital and access to large markets. According to him, Pakistan remains committed to increasing trade with SCO member states and to creating a more active environment for cross-border business engagement.
Sheikh also pointed to recent steps taken by the Government of Pakistan to encourage foreign investment and improve the country’s appeal for international investors. He said Pakistan offers a large consumer base, promising opportunities and attractive returns while also providing a secure environment for investment.
He urged the business community from member countries to visit Pakistan and take advantage of the wide range of investment prospects available in the country. The discussions in Bishkek reflected Pakistan’s intent to strengthen its economic links within the SCO framework and position itself as a practical destination for regional trade and capital inflows.
