Report: FT Correspondent:

RAWALPINDI –Director Excise and Taxation Rawalpindi Nauman Khalid has launched a One-Window Facility to provide greater convenience to citizens and ensure timely resolution of their applications and complaints.

Under the new system, dedicated staff have been deployed at the reception of the Excise and Taxation Office to receive applications and complaints and forward them to the relevant sections. Efforts will be made to resolve citizens’ issues within two days, reducing the need for repeated visits.

Nauman Khalid will personally supervise the facility and said citizen facilitation and relief were the department’s top priorities. He added that the process would be made more transparent, efficient and effective.

He said the One-Window Facility would subsequently be fully computerized to improve application monitoring, record accessibility and timely resolution of complaints.

Nauman Khalid said his office doors were open to citizens and every possible effort would be made to address genuine complaints and provide relief.
