GUJRANWALA: Commissioner Gujranwala and Gujrat Division Muhammad Ali held an open court in Kharian to hear citizens’ complaints and ensure their prompt resolution.
The open court was organised at the Municipal Committee Office Kharian in collaboration with Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, in line with the Punjab government’s policy of providing relief to citizens at their doorstep.
A total of 20 applications were submitted by citizens concerning various government departments. Commissioner Muhammad Ali personally heard the complaints and issued necessary instructions to the relevant officers for immediate action and resolution. One application concerned the police, while the remaining complaints related to other government departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Muhammad Ali said the purpose of holding open courts was to provide citizens with an opportunity to present their problems directly to senior officials instead of making repeated visits to government offices.

The commissioner said Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Waqas Safdar Sikandari and Assistant Commissioners had also been directed to hear citizens’ complaints under the open-door policy and ensure their prompt resolution.
Talking to the media later, Commissioner Muhammad Ali also discussed key civic issues facing Kharian city. He directed the concerned officers to accelerate measures to address parking problems, remove encroachments and improve the condition of city roads.
