LONDON –Global equity markets advanced on Monday as strong demand for artificial-intelligence technology lifted semiconductor shares, while easing oil prices provided additional support to investors.
The MSCI All-World index gained more than one per cent, while the Nasdaq and S&P 500 also moved higher.
Chipmakers led the gains, with Intel and AMD recording significant advances. South Korean trade data also pointed to strong semiconductor demand, with exports during the first 20 days of September reaching a record level.
