NOKKUNDI –Government teachers staged a protest in Nokkundi over delays in salary payments to government employees for the past two months.
The protest was led by Molabakhsh Baloch, Divisional Chairman of the Government Teachers Association Balochistan.
Addressing the protesters, Molabakhsh Baloch and former district chairman Hafiz Gul Hassan Farooqi said employees in other areas of Chagai district had received their salaries on October 24, while Nokkundi employees were still awaiting payments six days later.
They alleged negligence and unnecessary delays by the staff of the National Bank's Dalbandin branch, saying the situation had caused serious financial difficulties for teachers and other government employees.
The protesters said they would raise the matter with senior bank officials and warned of expanding their protest if the issue was not resolved promptly.
