ISLAMABAD — The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued notices over alleged violations of building control regulations and unauthorised constructions at Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence and several madrasas reportedly affiliated with him in Islamabad.
The CDA has directed the removal of encroachments outside Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence, including a security guards’ cabin and a generator. An additional kitchen constructed inside the premises has also been declared a violation of building regulations. The notice requires the removal of violations within 15 days, warning that the authority may take action itself in case of non-compliance.
The notice has been issued in the name of Amanullah, son of Muhammad Yunus, identified as the building owner. Records also refer to an earlier order dated March 18, 2019, directing the removal of encroachments from the residence.
Separately, the CDA has issued a notice to Madrasa Akhtar Uloom in Bilal Town, Korang Nala, Khanna Dak, over construction allegedly carried out without an approved building plan. The administration has been directed to submit construction drawings within 15 days, failing which the building may be sealed.
The authority has also identified alleged violations at Idara Maarif Islamia, Sharia Rabbania and Tafi Quran, located at House No. 3, Street No. 6, Sector F-8/3. These reportedly include construction on mandatory setbacks, unauthorised rooftop structures and the use of a residential building for madrasa activities.
The concerned administrations have been directed to remove the violations within 15 days. The CDA has warned that non-compliance could result in sealing of buildings, fines and cancellation of allotments.
The action is part of the authority’s broader enforcement of building control regulations across Islamabad, including at religious seminaries and other properties.
