ABBOTTABAD — The Provincial Ombudsman Secretariat, Regional Office Abbottabad, has formally closed a case seeking construction of a protective wall and installation of road signboards on an Abbottabad road due to the non-availability of development funds and the complainant’s failure to submit a rejoinder.
The case was registered under Complaint No. PO/Complaint/6609/12/2025 following a complaint by Gulfraz Ahmed Awan, a resident of Abbottabad, who highlighted frequent traffic accidents allegedly caused by the absence of safety walls and road signboards.
During the inquiry, the Ombudsman Office sought a response from the Executive Engineer of the Highway Division. The C&W Department subsequently submitted an engineering assessment stating that approximately Rs10 million would be required for construction of the safety walls, but no development funds were currently available for the project.
The Ombudsman Office forwarded the department’s response to the complainant and directed him to submit a rejoinder. However, no response was received within the stipulated period.
In view of the lack of development funds and the complainant’s failure to pursue the matter, the Provincial Ombudsman terminated further proceedings on August 4, 2026, and ordered the case file to be formally archived.
