MANDI BAHAUDDIN: Managing Director WASA Mandi Bahauddin, Ali Ahmed Chaudhry, personally supervised field operations on Sunday as rainwater drainage efforts continued across the city despite the public holiday.
Following heavy monsoon rains, WASA teams have been working round the clock for the past three days, using suction machines and other available machinery to ensure the immediate removal of accumulated rainwater from various parts of the city.
The teams are focusing on clearing water from low-lying areas, major roads, highways and public places to minimise inconvenience for commuters and restore normal traffic flow.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Chaudhry Adeel Haider Baryar said that providing maximum relief to citizens during the monsoon season remains the district administration’s top priority. He added that WASA personnel have remained fully operational, even on holidays, to accelerate drainage work and address rain-related issues promptly.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that all relevant departments are working in close coordination to facilitate the public, mitigate the impact of heavy rainfall and restore normal life as quickly as possible.
