Pakistan’s education sector received a fresh boost as the scholarship program being developed by the Brilliance Foundation took center stage in a meeting with Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai in New York. Representatives of the Foundation briefed him on their ongoing educational and community development work in Pakistan, with a particular focus on helping deserving students continue their studies.
According to the details shared, the new scholarship program will be launched in collaboration with the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Under the initiative, 30 students from the 2025 batch will receive scholarships for the full duration of their degree programs. The support package, estimated at around US$45,000 over three years, is designed to ease the financial pressure on orphaned and economically disadvantaged students.
The Foundation also outlined its broader efforts in online education and student support, saying these programs are meant to widen access to learning opportunities for young people in Pakistan. The briefing reflected a growing focus on practical educational assistance at a time when many families continue to face financial challenges.
Mr. Atozai appreciated the Foundation’s work and said such initiatives play an important role in promoting education and social uplift. He also acknowledged the wider contribution of the Pakistani-American community in supporting Pakistan’s educational and community development needs, calling it a meaningful example of cross-border engagement for public benefit.
The meeting highlighted how targeted philanthropy and academic partnerships can create real opportunities for students who might otherwise struggle to complete higher education. For many families in AJK and beyond, the scholarship program represents more than financial help; it offers a path toward stability, learning and long-term progress.
