ISLAMABAD — The Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) of the National Assembly of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub (RSH) Pakistan, launched the summary findings of a study on protection from sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (PSEAH) and financing to address gender-based violence (GBV) through gender-responsive budgeting.
The event brought together parliamentarians, safeguarding practitioners, development partners and gender experts to discuss funding for GBV prevention, institutional accountability and parliamentary oversight.
Dr. Shahida Rehmani, MNA and Secretary of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus, said tackling gender-based violence required not only strong legislation but also adequate funding, effective implementation and accountability.
She emphasised Parliament’s role in strengthening gender-responsive budgeting, scrutinising public expenditure and ensuring that commitments to women’s protection translated into measurable action.
