Muzaffarabad: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Muhammad Najib Khan has described India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir as a threat to regional peace and called on the United Nations to fulfill its responsibilities by granting the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination.
In his message on Kashmir Black Day, he described October 27 as the darkest day in the history of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, saying that Indian forces entered the region on that day and attempted to suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle for freedom.
The president of Azad Kashmir said that the Kashmiri people have never accepted India’s actions or occupation, while Pakistan has always supported their just struggle.
He said that the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination has been recognized in United Nations resolutions, but India continues to avoid implementing them. He also expressed concern over India’s actions on August 5, 2019, and the alleged human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
Dr. Najib Khan said that the Kashmiri people would continue their struggle until they achieved the right to self-determination, expressing confidence that they would certainly be given the opportunity to decide their future freely.
