MITHI: A meeting of the Taluka Social Welfare Committee was held at the Assistant Commissioner’s Office in Mithi under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Dr Umair Ashraf.

The meeting paid tribute to former committee member Bhagat Maturam, who recently passed away, and recalled his valuable social services and significant contributions to the committee.

Participants reviewed the committee’s budget position and discussed various ongoing social welfare initiatives and projects aimed at supporting deserving members of the community.

The committee decided to expand the Roshan Mustaqbil Scholarship Programme by including three additional school-going children from Government School Malhanor Veena.

Following the addition of the three students, a total of 15 students are now receiving monthly scholarships under the programme.

The committee also decided to issue a commemorative note highlighting Bhagat Maturam’s social services and contributions to the committee.
