RAWALPINDI–Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, has dismissed the joint press conference of Pakistan Peoples Party leaders Nadeem Afzal Chan and Saeed Ghani as a mix of baseless allegations and political frustration aimed at misleading the public.
In a statement, Barrister Danyal said the PML-N government is committed to public service, development, and economic stability. He termed the allegations regarding the Green Bus project, wheat procurement, monsoon rains, and other issues as unfounded and mere political point-scoring.
He said the PPP should introspect on its own failures rather than shifting blame onto others.
Barrister Danyal rejected Saeed Ghani’s allegation of firing on a PML-N candidate, expressing sorrow over the killing of worker Mukhtiar Younus and extending condolences to the family. He made it clear that the Azad Kashmir elections are being held freely, fairly, and transparently. “Raising pre-poll rigging allegations out of fear of defeat is an old habit of the PPP”.
The Parliamentary Secretary said the Punjab government, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is swiftly executing public welfare projects. The Green Bus project is providing modern, safe, and eco-friendly transport to thousands daily. Targeting such projects politically is against public interest.
He also rejected the impression that government schools in Punjab lack facilities, saying practical steps are being taken to improve infrastructure, IT labs, and smart classrooms with positive results already visible.
Barrister Danyal dismissed claims that agriculture is not Punjab’s priority and that wheat was imported instead of purchased from local farmers. He said all decisions are made transparently and in accordance with the law.
He also rejected allegations that half of Punjab was submerged during monsoon rains, saying timely action was taken and rainwater was drained from affected areas within hours.
Barrister Danyal said the federal government under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken effective steps for economic stability, inflation reduction, investment promotion, and public relief.
