ISLAMABAD— Chairman of the Global Pak Kashmir Supreme Council, Raja Sikander Khan, has extended his profound and heartfelt congratulations to Ch. Tariq Farooq on assuming the responsibilities of Speaker of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly and Acting President of the Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Raja Sikander Khan described the appointment as a significant responsibility at a crucial juncture for AJK, carrying the hopes and aspirations of its people. He expressed confidence that Ch. Tariq Farooq, with his political experience, maturity and commitment to public service, would discharge his responsibilities with dignity, wisdom and distinction.
He prayed that Almighty Allah grant Ch. Tariq Farooq the wisdom, courage, strength and foresight needed to uphold the sanctity of democratic institutions, strengthen the rule of law and serve the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir with sincerity, fairness and dedication.
Raja Sikander Khan emphasized that the present situation demands statesmanship over political divisions, dialogue over confrontation and unity over differences. He urged all political parties, elected representatives, civil society and community leaders to work together in the wider national and public interest, placing the peace, dignity and prosperity of the people of AJK above political considerations.
He also called for meaningful, sincere and sustained engagement with the Awami Action Committee, stressing that legitimate public concerns must be heard respectfully and addressed through dialogue, mutual understanding and democratic means. He said that building public confidence and mutual trust was essential for lasting stability and progress.
Raja Sikander Khan further emphasized that peace, law and order, protection of citizens’ fundamental rights and dignity, and good governance must remain among the foremost priorities of the new government. He expressed hope that the new leadership would rise to the occasion and provide the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir with a government committed to justice, accountability, compassion and effective public service.
Concluding his message, Raja Sikander Khan once again extended his warmest congratulations and prayers for Ch. Tariq Farooq’s success. He said that the new responsibility was not merely an honour but a solemn trust placed upon his shoulders by the people and institutions of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
