Report: Dr. Mirza MB Qamar

GUJRANWALA: Sialkot Virtual Women Police Station took immediate action after a woman reported that her husband had allegedly subjected her to violence and cut her hair, resulting in the arrest of the accused.

According to details, the affected woman contacted the Virtual Women Police Station through emergency helpline 15 and reported that her husband had allegedly assaulted her and cut her hair.

Taking serious notice of the incident, DPO Sialkot Captain (R) Dost Muhammad termed the alleged act inhumane and ordered legal action. Police subsequently registered a case against the accused on the woman’s complaint and arrested him.

The accused will be presented before the court and will face legal consequences if found guilty.

DPO Sialkot Captain (R) Dost Muhammad said that women are an important part of society and their protection remains the top priority of Sialkot Police. He said violence, humiliation or harassment against women would not be tolerated.

He further stated that domestic disputes do not give anyone the right to subject a wife or any woman to violence, humiliation or mistreatment. Strict action would be taken against those involved in violence against women in accordance with the law.

The DPO added that the government has introduced various measures and support mechanisms for the protection of women, including the Virtual Women Police Station and other facilities, to ensure immediate assistance in case of any difficulty or threat.

He urged women and citizens facing domestic violence or any form of oppression to immediately contact 15 or the Virtual Women Police Station for assistance.
