MANDI BAHAUDDIN—The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Mandi Bahauddin has finalized all monsoon preparations under the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Managing Director Ali Ahmed Chaudhry said that, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Adeel Haider, all major and minor drains and sewer lines have been cleaned to ensure smooth drainage during the rainy season.
He said WASA teams are on high alert, while monsoon camps equipped with emergency machinery have been established at key locations across the city. Rainfall is being monitored through modern systems, including rain gauges and surveillance cameras.
The MD said that after the recent 52mm rainfall, WASA teams promptly cleared water from roads and low-lying areas. He added that, under the supervision of Deputy Director Rana Muhammad Kashif, daily inspections and cleaning operations are continuing to prevent waterlogging.
Ali Ahmed Chaudhry urged citizens to cooperate with the administration by avoiding the disposal of garbage into drains and sewer lines, adding that all available resources are being utilized to keep the city’s drainage system fully functional throughout the monsoon season.
