Report: GNM :

SIBI– Like other parts of the country, a rally was held in Sibi on Monday to observe Kashmir Black Day and express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Led by Deputy Commissioner Sibi Major (Retd) Ilyas Kabzai, the rally started from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and concluded at the Officers Club. District officials, tribal elders, teachers, students and a large number of citizens participated.

The event began with a one-minute silence. Participants carried Pakistani and Kashmiri flags and placards, raised slogans in support of Kashmiris and called on the international community to play an effective role in resolving the Kashmir dispute fairly.

Addressing the rally, Deputy Commissioner Ilyas Kabzai said October 27 was observed as Black Day to express solidarity with Kashmiris and draw global attention to the situation in the occupied territory. He recalled that Indian forces arrived in Srinagar on October 27, 1947, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued political, moral and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people.

He urged the United Nations and the international community to take effective steps towards a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant UN resolutions and the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.

The rally concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to supporting the Kashmiri people’s legitimate rights and continuing to raise their voices for a peaceful and just settlement of the dispute.
