MITHI — The Thar Education Alliance (TEA), in collaboration with the Habib Bank Foundation, organised a two-day entrepreneurship boot camp in Mithi for women from Tharparkar, with 26 women participating in the programme.

Held under the theme “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: From Ideas to Business,” the initiative aimed to equip women with essential business skills, promote economic independence and help them transform their talents into sustainable sources of income.

Participants received training in starting and expanding businesses, understanding market needs, maintaining business accounts, calculating product costs, setting prices, assessing profits and managing finances effectively. The sessions also covered digital marketing, e-commerce, savings, microcredit, potential sources of financial assistance and the preparation of business proposals to access loans.

The training was facilitated by Ghulam Muhammad Soomro, Manager of Monitoring and Evaluation at the National Incubation Centre Hyderabad, with assistant trainer Iqra Qureshi.

The programme also highlighted business opportunities for women in Tharparkar, particularly in handicrafts, embroidery, food production and processing, livestock, henna, block printing and online businesses.

As part of the initiative, participants developed 90-day action plans to improve their businesses and presented their entrepreneurial ideas, receiving feedback and recommendations for further development.

The establishment of a TEA Women Entrepreneurs Network was also proposed to strengthen connections among women entrepreneurs, encourage collaboration and facilitate the exchange of experiences.

Speaking on the occasion, TEA Programme Manager Bharat Kumar said the initiative was designed to provide women in Tharparkar with the skills and guidance needed to transform their talents and business ideas into formal and sustainable enterprises.

He said training in business planning, financial management and digital marketing could strengthen women's confidence and economic independence. He added that the 90-day action plans and proposed network could help participants make practical progress in their businesses and learn from one another's experiences.

Certificates were distributed among participants at the conclusion of the training programme.

Manager of Habib Bank's Mithi Branch Vinod Lohana, Shahida Bakhsh, Raja Sharma, Vinod Kumar, Palak Kumari and others were also present on the occasion.
