RAWALPINDI — The Health Department has sealed a scrap yard in Mir Haider Colony, Chak Jalal Din, over poor sanitation and concerns about potential dengue mosquito breeding.
District Health Inspector Shahid Mahmood Sial, accompanied by Sanitary Inspector Muhammad Hasnain, took action after scrap materials and empty bottles were found stored in the open, creating a potential risk of stagnant water accumulation and mosquito breeding.
Shahid Mahmood Sial said protecting residents from dengue remained a top priority. He warned that strict legal action and heavy fines would be imposed on individuals and businesses failing to maintain proper sanitation standards.
He urged residents and business owners to maintain cleanliness and ensure the proper storage and disposal of scrap materials and empty containers that could collect water.
The Health Department said enforcement operations would continue to eliminate potential dengue breeding sites and safeguard public health.
