GILGIT— Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate Gilgit Captain (R) Arif Ahmed met a public delegation from Balchi Bagrote, which highlighted issues caused by recent floods, including damage to the area’s water channel and footbridge.
The delegation also requested the provision of an excavator to accelerate restoration work in the affected area.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Deputy Director Water Management Gilgit to immediately inspect the damaged water channel, submit a detailed report, and ensure its prompt restoration. He also instructed the Executive Engineer B&R Gilgit Division to expedite repairs to the damaged footbridge and arrange an excavator for the area.
Captain (R) Arif Ahmed assured the delegation that the district administration is committed to resolving public issues on a priority basis and utilizing all available resources to restore essential infrastructure in the flood-affected areas.
