ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in his message on World Teachers’ Day, paid tribute to teachers in Pakistan and around the world for their vital role in educating and nurturing future generations.

The Prime Minister said teachers play a central role in developing students’ knowledge, character, critical thinking, creativity and skills, adding that the progress and prosperity of Pakistan was closely linked to the quality of its education system.

He said the government was committed to making education merit-based, high-quality and aligned with global standards, while expanding the network of Danish Schools to provide quality education to talented and deserving students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighted initiatives including the National Institute of Excellence in Teacher Education (NIETE), curriculum reforms, NAVTTC and the Prime Minister’s Youth Skills Development Programme to strengthen teacher training and equip young people with skills suited to the evolving job market.

Paying special tribute to teachers serving in remote and underdeveloped areas, he called upon educators to continue their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication as nation-builders.

He expressed confidence that a new generation equipped with integrity, compassion, tolerance, discipline, creativity, mutual respect and patriotism would be capable of shouldering the responsibilities of the future.
