LAHORE — On the directions of Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Karim, security was placed on high alert across the province, including Lahore, on the occasion of Friday prayers.
Security arrangements were strengthened at mosques, Imambargahs, shrines, markets, business centres and other sensitive locations, while effective police patrolling and monitoring were carried out along major highways and around places of worship.
IG Punjab directed DPOs and field officers to remain present in the field and personally review security arrangements. He said maintaining law and order and protecting the lives and property of citizens remained the top priority of Punjab Police.
Following Friday prayers, police officers also met citizens at various mosques, listened to their concerns and directed relevant officials to take necessary measures for their resolution.
