Mandi Bahauddin — On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Adeel Haider, a meeting was held at the DC Office under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Enforcement Dr Iffat-un-Nisa to review the performance of Price Control Magistrates across the district.
The meeting reviewed the ongoing price control campaign, action against overcharging and illegal profiteering, and the availability of essential commodities at officially fixed prices. Price Control Magistrates briefed the participants on inspections, fines, warnings and violations.
Dr Iffat-un-Nisa said providing relief to the public was the district administration’s top priority and directed officials to ensure the sale of essential commodities according to the official price list.
She instructed officers to strengthen their field presence, conduct surprise inspections of markets and take immediate action on citizens’ complaints.
She further directed that daily inspections be made more effective and that indiscriminate action be taken against those involved in profiteering, hoarding and overcharging.
