ISLAMABAD — Pakistan Awaami Quwat Party Chairman and Chairman of Rawal General & Dental Hospital and Rawal Foundation, Khawaja Khakan Waheed, has said that the country needs visionary leaders capable of understanding and fulfilling the aspirations and requirements of the nation.
“We do not prepare workers; we prepare leaders,” Khakan Waheed said while addressing members of the Future Leaders Youth Parliament in Mardan.
He said Pakistan needs leaders with a high-level vision and the capability to deliver according to the country’s needs. “We do not want a situation where the leader’s vision is different from the vision of the nation,” he added.
Khawaja Khakan Waheed addressed the Youth Parliament on a special invitation from Chairman Save Life Foundation Hakim Khan and Youth Parliament President Engineer Irfan Khan. He received a warm welcome upon his arrival in Mardan.
The Future Leaders Youth Assembly, organised under the Human Rights Protection and Social Justice platform, continued for more than two hours. Members of the Youth Parliament, young leaders and parliamentarians attended the session, which also included an interactive question-and-answer session.
Addressing the youth, Khakan Waheed said that the youth are the real strength and capital of any country. He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s young generation and said there was no room for despair.
He said the Pakistan Awami Quwwat Party had undertaken several initiatives for public welfare despite not being in power, particularly in the fields of healthcare, e-commerce, employment and technical education.
“These initiatives prove that we believe in action rather than promises,” he said.
Responding to questions from Youth Parliament members and students, Khakan Waheed said Pakistan had unfortunately not found a truly representative leader or a leader with a clear vision during its 79-year history.
“We will change the destiny of this country and end the disappointments of our youth. The youth are our future, and we take pride in them. Through our young generation, we will put Pakistan on the path of development and progress,” he said.
