ISLAMABAD—President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Atif Ikram Sheikh, has strongly rejected allegations of visa sales and human smuggling against FPCCI office-bearers, calling them baseless and a deliberate attempt to damage the reputation of Pakistan’s apex trade body.
In a statement, he clarified that FPCCI neither issues nor sells visas and that trade delegations are organized solely to promote trade, investment and business cooperation.
He further stated that FPCCI has no connection with any alleged visa scam or illegal activity. He said the federation did not submit any visa applications for the women’s delegation, nor were any visas issued on its recommendation.
Atif Ikram Sheikh reaffirmed that all visa recommendation letters are issued strictly on merit and in accordance with the guidelines of the relevant embassies, ensuring transparency and compliance with the law.
