JHELUM: Political and business activities have intensified ahead of the upcoming elections of the Jhelum Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the United Veteran Group and Alliance Group joining hands to contest the election under the banner of the United Alliance.
Following mutual consultation and consensus, both groups have decided to unite and field candidates from the United Alliance platform, marking what they described as the first major step towards electoral success. The alliance has emerged as an organized and strong group in the chamber’s electoral arena.
Officials and members of the United Alliance said their objective is not to engage in politics against any individual or group, but to take practical measures for the welfare of the business community, further strengthen the Jhelum Chamber and contribute to the economic development and prosperity of Jhelum district.
The alliance leaders said that, if successful, the United Alliance would play an active role in resolving the problems faced by traders, promoting business activities, improving the performance of the chamber and providing an effective platform for the business community.
They said their biggest strength is the business community and their friends who are sincerely committed to the development of Jhelum. “We will take everyone along and will not leave anyone behind,” the leaders said.
The United Alliance officials expressed confidence that unity within their ranks and strong support from traders would ensure their success, adding that the election campaign is expected to gain further momentum in the coming days.
They also hinted at more major developments and surprises in the election arena, saying that all future decisions would be taken with the development and prosperity of the Jhelum Chamber, business community and district of Jhelum in mind.
The alliance leaders reiterated their determination to make the chamber more active, strong and effective in addressing traders’ issues, while working to give the business community of Jhelum a more prominent position at the national level.
Following the merger of the two groups, the Jhelum Chamber election has entered a more interesting and decisive phase.
