Islamabad: Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, in his message on Kashmir Black Day, said that a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute is essential for lasting peace, stability and prosperity in South Asia.
He urged the international community to help fulfill commitments made to the Kashmiri people and implement relevant United Nations resolutions.
Gilani said October 27, 1947, remains a dark day in Kashmir’s history, marking the entry of Indian forces into Jammu and Kashmir against the wishes of its people. He paid tribute to the sacrifices of Kashmiris and reaffirmed their right to self-determination.
