MURREE — The Rawalpindi North Forest Division has launched an operation against an illegal sawmill established on private land in Karor, Tehsil Kotli Sattian, and seized its machinery.
According to Deputy Conservator of Forests Rawalpindi North Muhammad Umar Atiq, the department received a complaint regarding the operation of an illegal sawmill in the Baga area. Following the complaint, the Assistant Conservator of Forests Karor, along with field staff, conducted an operation at the site.
During the operation, the machinery of the illegal sawmill was seized and shifted to the ACF Office in Karor. Legal proceedings have also been initiated against those responsible under the relevant forest laws and regulations.
On the instructions of DFO Rawalpindi North Muhammad Umar Atiq, operations against illegal sawmills and violations of forest laws are continuing.
