SIBI –The Public Health Engineering Department has launched a crackdown against consumers failing to pay water taxes and those using unauthorized water connections, disconnecting multiple connections in different areas of the city.
On the directives of XEN Public Health Engineering Sibi Shahzada Farrukh Baloch and SDO Gulab Soomro, a departmental team led by Supervisor Malik Asad Silachi inspected Allahabad, Hashmi Mosque, TV Poster Road and other areas, disconnecting connections of water tax defaulters.
Speaking to the media, Malik Asad Silachi said timely payment of water taxes was essential to ensure uninterrupted water supply and maintain the system. He urged citizens not to install unauthorized connections and to obtain new connections through the proper legal procedure.
He warned that departmental and legal action would be taken against those using illegal connections or obtaining water unlawfully from government supply lines. The department said action against defaulters and illegal connections would continue.
