ZIARAT—Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that martyrs are the pride of the nation, the strength of the state, and the jewel in our crown, adding that the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives for the country’s peace, security, and stability will never be forgotten. He assured that the provincial government would continue to stand by the families of the martyrs and provide them with every possible support.
Addressing a ceremony in Ziarat for the distribution of compensation cheques among the heirs of the martyrs, the Chief Minister expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks. He said the recent tragedy had plunged the entire province into mourning, but the courage and sacrifices of the martyrs would continue to inspire the nation.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned terrorism, saying terrorists had targeted innocent civilians and attempted to spread fear and instability. He stressed that terrorism has no connection with Islam or with the traditions of the Baloch and Pashtun people, and that those behind such attacks would never succeed in their evil designs.
The Chief Minister paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Balochistan Police, Frontier Corps, Pakistan Army, and other law enforcement agencies, urging the public to support state institutions and reject anti-state propaganda.
He announced a comprehensive welfare package for the martyrs’ families, including Rs. 11 million in compensation for each family, government-funded education for children up to 16 years of study, complete healthcare facilities, a government job for one family member, and full legal and administrative assistance. He said all compensation funds had already been released and would be transferred to the legal heirs after completion of legal formalities.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti also announced that a high-level inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the Ziarat incident transparently. He made it clear that if negligence or misconduct by any official is established, strict and impartial action will be taken without exception.
Concluding his address, the Chief Minister said Pakistan’s security, national unity, and stability are a collective responsibility. He reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, ensuring justice for the victims, and providing long-term support to the families of the martyrs. He also offered special prayers for the martyrs, the speedy recovery of the injured, and lasting peace and prosperity for Pakistan.
