ISLAMABAD– Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, accompanied by British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott, Federal Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Cryptocurrency Bilal Bin Saqib, visited Eidgah Sharif in Rawalpindi on Friday.
The delegation was received by the Custodian of Eidgah Sharif, Pir Syed Muhammad Hassan Haseeb-ur-Rehman, who briefed the guests on the shrine’s spiritual heritage and its longstanding contributions to religious education, social welfare, and the promotion of Islamic values.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Senate Gilani praised the services of Eidgah Sharif and said the teachings of Sufi saints promote peace, tolerance, compassion, and interfaith harmony. He stressed that terrorism and extremism have no place in Islam and called for national unity, political stability, constitutional supremacy, and stronger democratic values.
Gilani said Parliament would continue to promote national consensus and constructive dialogue, while emphasizing economic stability, investment, employment generation, and public relief as national priorities. He expressed confidence that with unity and institutional cooperation, Pakistan would overcome its challenges and achieve sustainable progress.
