ISLAMABAD— All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran and Traders Action Committee Islamabad President Ajmal Baloch, Secretary Khalid Chaudhry, Kamran Kakakhel, Ahmad Khan, Akhtar Abbasi and other traders’ leaders, in a joint statement, urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to further simplify the new income tax return forms to encourage greater compliance.
They called on traders to file their tax returns on time and seek guidance from their respective market associations where needed. The leaders also demanded that previous income tax returns be accepted without objection and that traders joining the new scheme be exempted from POS and TR-1 requirements.
They said the new scheme is a positive step but stressed that any hurdles in its implementation would be strongly opposed by the business community.
