QUETTA: Armed assailants attacked parked vehicles in the Padak and Mill areas of Nushki late Sunday night, opening fire before setting them ablaze. The incident resulted in the destruction of 10 vehicles, including four bowser trucks, while one person sustained injuries, according to local sources.
The attack caused extensive financial losses as all the targeted vehicles were completely destroyed by fire.
The incident is the latest in a series of violent attacks reported along the Quetta–Karachi and Quetta–Taftan highways. Earlier, six LPG bowser trucks were torched in the Mill area, while 10 vehicles transporting minerals were also set on fire in a separate attack on a convoy.
Following the latest incident, transporters across Balochistan urged the government to take immediate and effective measures to restore the writ of the state on key highways. They called for enhanced security to safeguard the lives and property of transporters and travellers and to prevent the continued destruction of vehicles worth billions of rupees.
