Pakistan is strengthening youth participation in sports through government-led initiatives aimed at preparing young athletes for international competitions while fostering self-confidence, positive thinking, mental well-being, and healthy lifestyles.
Speaking at a prestigious United Nations event, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, highlighted Pakistan’s growing role in promoting youth mental health, well-being, and global solidarity through sports.
During the event, he presented the official FIFA World Cup 2026 match ball, “TRIONDA,” manufactured in Pakistan, as a symbol of the country’s excellence in sports manufacturing. He described the ball as more than just sporting equipment, calling it a testament to Pakistan’s world-class craftsmanship, innovation, and industrial expertise.
Rana Mashhood noted that Pakistan has proudly manufactured official FIFA World Cup match balls for several editions of the tournament, demonstrating the country’s internationally recognized quality standards. He emphasized that sports serve as a universal language capable of bringing together people from different nations, cultures, and communities while promoting peace, understanding, and social harmony.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme is expanding opportunities for young people through sports to improve their confidence, resilience, and physical and mental health. Empowering youth to contribute to a peaceful and prosperous society remains one of the programme’s highest priorities.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Final
The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final will be played on Sunday, July 19, at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, where Argentina and Spain will compete for the world title.
One of the most remarkable stories surrounding the final involves Lionel Messi and Spanish teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.
In 2007, during a UNICEF charity calendar photo shoot organized with Diario Sport, a young Messi was photographed bathing an infant in a small plastic tub. That child was Lamine Yamal.
The photographs remained largely unnoticed until 2024, when Yamal’s father shared them on social media, where they quickly went viral. Nearly two decades later, the two footballers are set to meet on the world’s biggest stage—symbolizing a passing of the torch between one of football’s greatest legends and one of its brightest young stars.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will also make history by introducing American-style championship rings for the winning team, marking the first time such rings will be awarded in FIFA World Cup history.
Pakistan’s continued contributions to sports manufacturing, youth development, and international sporting cooperation reinforce its growing reputation as a global advocate for peace, excellence, and youth empowerment through sports.
