National CERT Pakistan has announced the launch of its Summer Internship Programme 2026, bringing together some of the country’s most talented students and graduates to support Pakistan’s national cybersecurity mission.
According to National CERT, the programme received an overwhelming response, with around 50,000 applications submitted by students and graduates from across Pakistan. After a rigorous, merit-based selection process, only about 1% of applicants were selected, making the initiative one of the most competitive internship programmes in the country.
The selected interns will receive practical exposure to national-level cybersecurity work, including cyber defence, threat intelligence, digital forensics, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), security operations, research and development, cyber policy, and capacity building.
They will work with experts at National CERT and contribute to projects aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s cyber resilience.
National CERT said it remains committed to developing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals by offering meaningful learning opportunities, hands-on experience, and mentorship to help build a secure and digitally resilient Pakistan.
The organisation congratulated the selected interns and thanked all applicants for their enthusiasm and interest in serving the country through cybersecurity.
National CERT said the initiative is part of efforts to build Pakistan’s future cyber workforce.
