Authorities in Faisalabad have stepped up preparations for the coming Muharram-ul-Haram processions, with a senior-level review meeting held to assess the Muharram security plan across the division. Commissioner Ms. Musarrat Jabeen chaired the session, bringing together key civil, police and military officials to ensure that all arrangements remain in place ahead of the religious observances.

The meeting was attended by RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera, Pakistan Army Brigadier Yaseen, Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad Capt. (R) Nadeem Nasir, CPO Tanveer Hussain and other district officers. Officials reviewed the security and administrative framework for processions and majalis, with special attention on coordinated action during the sensitive days of Muharram.

The commissioner directed all concerned departments to strengthen the Muharram security arrangements from 7th Muharram onward until Youm-e-Ashura. She stressed the need for close liaison with procession organisers and peace committees so that any issue can be addressed promptly and peacefully. She also instructed the administration to strictly enforce the ban on unauthorised loudspeakers, saying that discipline and compliance with rules remain essential for maintaining order.

Ms. Jabeen further ordered that control rooms must remain fully functional throughout the period, while every officer should have clear duty assignments to avoid any lapse in coordination. She said the civil administration will continue working in close contact with law-enforcement agencies to safeguard participants and ensure smooth movement during the processions.

RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera called for effective implementation of the security plan in line with standard operating procedures, noting that vigilance and timely response are critical during Muharram. Brigadier Yaseen expressed satisfaction with the arrangements presented during the meeting and assured that the Pakistan Army will continue to extend support to the civil administration wherever needed.
