MUZAFFARABAD — Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Khan met Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Tariq Farooq to discuss the Kashmir freedom movement, the latest situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), current political affairs and other matters of mutual interest.
The AJK President stressed the need to effectively highlight the Kashmir issue at the international level and bring the sacrifices and right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people to the attention of the international community.
He said the Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people to ensure lasting peace in the region.
Dr. Najeeb Khan also emphasised unity, consultation and cooperation among AJK’s political leadership on key national and state matters. He reaffirmed the commitment to continue efforts to highlight the Kashmir issue at international forums.
Chaudhry Tariq Farooq reiterated that joint efforts would continue to support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and raise the Kashmir issue at the international level.
