MITHI — Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Tharparkar Hashim Masood has directed officials to accelerate nutrition-related initiatives and the Mamta Programme to ensure timely assistance to deserving beneficiaries across the district.
The directions were issued during a District Coordination Committee meeting held at the Conference Hall in Mithi on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar Abdul Haleem Jagirani.
The District Coordinator briefed participants that the Mamta Programme provides financial assistance to pregnant and breastfeeding women to improve maternal and child health during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life.
Hashim Masood stressed stronger monitoring, public awareness campaigns, streamlined beneficiary registration and transparent disbursement of financial assistance without unauthorized deductions.
Officials from relevant departments attended the meeting and reviewed measures to improve programme implementation and extend support to vulnerable communities across Tharparkar.
