Report: ANI

SIBI — Deputy Commissioner Sibi Major (Retd) Ilyas Kabzai has urged parents to ensure that all children under five receive polio vaccine drops during the campaign starting November 2.

He expressed these views while speaking to media representatives during an awareness walk organised to highlight the importance of polio vaccination. Officials from various departments, students and citizens participated in the walk.

The deputy commissioner said polio is a dangerous and incurable disease that can cause lifelong disability, but timely vaccination can protect children against the disease.

He informed that a target of vaccinating 43,178 children has been set for the campaign in Sibi district, which will continue from November 2 to 6.

He directed the relevant authorities and vaccination teams to fulfil their responsibilities effectively and ensure that no child is missed during the campaign.

Ilyas Kabzai also appealed to media representatives, parents, religious scholars and community elders to support the national polio eradication campaign, raise public awareness and cooperate with vaccination teams.

He said eradicating polio is a collective responsibility of the government, relevant institutions and society, urging everyone to work together to protect children's health and secure their future.
