LAHORE: Secretary and Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr. Ehsan Bhutta has declared the protection of Auqaf properties, revenue enhancement and timely achievement of government targets as top priorities, warning of departmental action against officials who fail to meet their targets.
Chairing a conference of Zonal Administrators at Aiwan-e-Auqaf, Lahore, he reviewed the department’s administrative, financial and development activities and called for stronger accountability and performance monitoring.
During inspections in Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur and Mithankot, dedicated teams identified hundreds of acres of Auqaf land under illegal cultivation. Dr. Bhutta directed officials to complete legal proceedings, protect the properties and submit recommendations to increase revenue.
He also ordered daily monitoring of dengue prevention targets, public awareness campaigns through religious scholars, and greater promotion of historical galleries at model shrines to encourage religious tourism.
The secretary further directed officials to expedite land mutations, remove illegal constructions, coordinate with NAB where necessary, and accelerate commercial and development projects on Auqaf lands.
He stressed that continuous monitoring, effective follow-up and timely action were essential to achieving departmental targets.
