TASHKENT: Initiatives announced by Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the Open Dialogue with entrepreneurs in Khiva, Khorezm Region, have drawn increased interest from international business representatives, foreign investors and multinational companies.
The dialogue highlighted Uzbekistan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the business environment, attract investment, expand exports and integrate the country more deeply into global value chains while protecting investors’ rights.
According to the report, the number of registered business entities in Uzbekistan has exceeded 530,000, while 2.4 million permanent jobs have been created in the private sector and exports have reached a record level.
The country is also expanding institutional support and financing opportunities for foreign investors and joint ventures. An additional $100 million has been allocated to guarantee credit lines, while grants and preferential financing of up to 10 billion soums are being introduced for high-growth companies.
To support companies seeking access to international markets, the state will cover up to 50 percent of expenses related to placing products on major international electronic trading platforms.
The initiatives also focus on strengthening private property protections, ensuring stability in tax legislation, reducing administrative pressure and improving the assessment of tax risks in line with international standards.
Uzbekistan is further promoting green growth through incentives for energy-efficient technologies and solar power generation, alongside the introduction of a national certification system for environmentally friendly products.
The Khiva Dialogue also emphasized regional development, with special legal regimes planned for pharmaceutical, textile and IT clusters in Khorezm Region and improved integration with international transport and logistics corridors.
The reported measures reflect Uzbekistan’s efforts to create stronger institutional guarantees, reduce investment risks and provide international businesses with greater access to the growing Central Asian market.
