ISLAMABAD–Federal Secretary Housing & Works Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood, accompanied by Director General, Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), Capt. (Retd.) Zafar Iqbal, visited the Margalla Orchard Housing Scheme on September 22, 2026.
Senior officers of DHA and the Housing Authority received the Federal Secretary and briefed him on the housing scheme, ongoing development works, basic infrastructure and allied facilities.
The Project Director, Margalla Orchard, briefed the Federal Secretary on the progress achieved so far, ongoing development activities and the future course of action.
Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood reviewed the progress of electricity, gas and horticulture works and directed the concerned officers to expedite the ongoing projects. He also reviewed arrangements for rainwater channelization and lighting along the main boulevard and issued necessary directions for their timely completion.
The progress regarding the handover and possession of Block-A of Margalla Orchard Housing Scheme, scheduled for June 2027, was also discussed.
The Federal Secretary directed the authorities to accelerate development activities, ensure quality work and complete basic infrastructure and allied facilities within the stipulated timelines.
He emphasized effective monitoring and close coordination among all concerned departments to ensure timely provision of essential facilities to allottees and completion of the project according to the prescribed targets.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Federal Secretary expressed satisfaction over the ongoing development activities and directed the concerned authorities to maintain the pace of work and utilize all available resources for timely completion of the project.
