Report: ANI Correspondent:
LAHORE — A meeting chaired by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Naib Ameer Liaqat Baloch was held at Mansoora to review preparations for the proposed ‘Super Long March.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Liaqat Baloch said five rounds of negotiations had been held between government and Jamaat-e-Islami committees, but the government side had failed to present any concrete proposals.
He said Jamaat-e-Islami had presented comprehensive proposals for abolishing the petroleum levy but the government continued to delay the matter.
Baloch said further negotiations without a comprehensive relief package would be meaningless. If the government is serious, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif should directly join the negotiations and announce a major relief package for the people.
He said Jamaat-e-Islami would not be satisfied with mere assurances or temporary relief and would continue to press for practical measures to address public grievances.
