KARACHI — Leading corporate law firm Akhund Forbes has launched Conclavity, a legal intelligence platform designed specifically for Pakistani law and grounded in a maintained database of Pakistani statutes, ordinances, rules and regulations.
The platform was launched on Wednesday at the Mövenpick Hotel Karachi by Rabel Z. Akhund, Managing Partner of Akhund Forbes and Founder of Conclavity. The event was attended by members of the judiciary, senior legal professionals, in-house counsel, banking and industry representatives and corporate clients.
Sindh High Court Justice Yousuf Ali Sayeed, who delivered the keynote address, highlighted both the potential and limitations of artificial intelligence in legal practice. He noted that AI can sometimes provide information that is not grounded in reality, while the approach adopted by Conclavity could help address this risk through verified legal citations.
Conclavity is designed to assist lawyers and businesses with legal research, drafting and contract review. Its responses are linked to the relevant provisions of Pakistani law, enabling users to verify the legal basis of the information rather than relying solely on AI-generated conclusions.
Rabel Akhund said the platform was developed in Pakistan by Pakistani lawyers and engineers for Pakistani businesses. He stressed that Conclavity is intended to support rather than replace lawyers, reducing the burden of routine research and drafting while keeping professional judgment and accountability at the center of legal work.
Nasim Beg of the Arif Habib Group said AI would continue transforming professional life, while human judgment and interaction would remain particularly important in the legal sector.
Following the launch, Conclavity will initially be offered to selected early adopters, mainly corporate clients and in-house legal teams. Their feedback will help shape the platform’s future development and expansion beyond legislation.
