MUZAFFARABAD: Forty-six newly elected members of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly took oath on Monday. Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar administered the oath to the newly elected members.
The members included 38 candidates directly elected in the general elections, along with five members elected on reserved seats for women and one each on seats reserved for Ulema and Mashaikh, overseas Kashmiris and technocrats.
Assembly Secretary Amjad Latif Abbasi read out the notification announcing the success of the newly elected members.
Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar later adjourned the session of the AJK Legislative Assembly until 2:00 pm on August 25, 2026.
