Report: FT City Reporter:

ISLAMABAD: An important meeting of the Federal Grand Health Alliance Islamabad was held at PIMS Hospital, attended by representatives from various federal hospitals and a large number of clinical health employees from PIMS.

The meeting was addressed by Malik Zeeshan Awan, Haroon Pirzada, Kashif, Naseer Ahmed, Dr. Yousaf Khan, Sharif Khattak and Muhammad Arshad Khan, among other leaders.

Participants expressed serious concern over disparities in salaries and allowances among federal health employees and demanded that the government immediately re-fix the health allowance at the level of the 2022 running basic pay for all federal health employees.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants unanimously agreed on a future course of action. They announced that if their demands were not accepted within one week, the scope of the protest would be expanded.

The alliance leaders said they would visit federal hospitals to finalise the protest strategy. In case of continued non-fulfilment of their demands, all services except emergency services, including OPDs, would be boycotted at federal hospitals.

Federal Grand Health Alliance leader Muhammad Arshad Khan said the government should immediately address the legitimate demands of health employees, otherwise they would be compelled to expand their protest.
