ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken strict notice of Islamabad Chief Commissioner and Inspector General of Police riding in a ceremonial carriage during the Independence Day ceremony.
The officials reportedly sat in the Prime Minister House’s carriage and watched the parade and Independence Day celebrations after the Prime Minister did not attend the event.
The Prime Minister expressed displeasure over the display of protocol and directed that such practices of pomp, show and personal publicity at official events be immediately stopped.
The Establishment Division, on the Prime Minister’s instructions, issued directions to government officers to demonstrate simplicity, dignity and humility at official ceremonies.
The Prime Minister stressed that government officers are servants of the people and that unnecessary protocol, extravagance and personal publicity are unacceptable.
